Default used to have axle clicking noise, now its gone... what happened?

i used to have the rear axle clicking noise that is the TSB for 350z's. it used to be loud, now it is gone. does this mean it fixed itself? Or does it mean it completely broke off? ive been noticing less traction lately, is that because of the LSD thing broken? I drive an 05 enthusiast by the way.

Same thing happening here, on a 05 touring...no more clickey. I haven't noticed a loss in traction though, do you think your perceived loss of traction might be in your head, or is it REALLY noticeable?

It happens to me all the time. I hear the clicling noise for a while and it is gone. One thing I noticed is that the clicking noise comes back when I'm harsh on the clutch(quick drop).

i notice this with my car , when it started getting colder outside, the noise stop completly. Then spring and summer came back and the noise came back. I just went a got it repaired at nissan.

it might just be that its getting colder outside, but you go and get it fix.. all they do is lubercated it.

I noticed mine was making that noise as well. The day I brought it in to the dealer to have it fixed it wouldn't make the clicking sound!

They were looking at me like this guy ---->

Regardless I had them relube or whatever it is they do. I got a big bag of bolts as well after. I don't have any clue where they came from.

Has anyone had the clicking issue fixed and it came back a while later?

The clicking (or lack thereof) is due to improperly torqued axel bolts and has NOTHING to do with the diff. To fix, they replace the axel bolts and properly torque them (hense the bag of bolts).

Guess what, I just had a break though with the drive axle clicking noise (mine only happened on accelerating from below 5mph, I'm assuming yours did too) I've been researching the problem online for a long while, and I had been fearing its somthing major wrong with the drive axle, differential or something like that. I also read that if the problem goes repaired for a long period of time it can actually cause your rear axle to freeze up, and literally your car won't be able to move.

I always figured this was why the previous owner sold the car, trying to avoid a major repair bill. Anyways this weekend I took out the jack/wrench/twister from out from underneath the trunk to jack the car up, and when I put them back, I made sure they couldn't touch....so no metal would clank.

THE NOISE HASN'T HAPPENED since I rearranged the jack and those 3 other metal tools that go underneath the trunk floormatt! And before it happened every single time.

No wonder so many 350Z owners have a clicking noise on accelerating from 0-5, because that's when there's the most inertia, and when the tools clank....and every 350Z has those tools back there, so that's why so many of us have that problem!
