Default Little help needed with a rebuild

Hi. I've got an USDM '05 350Z Enthusiast Coupe, here in Europe. It has damaged front end, I just wonder if you could help me with rebuilding it ? The story behind this question is quite simple, parts for the Z here are unreasonably expensive (ex.the new OEM hood from Nissan dealer costs like 1g $), that's why I figured out that it could be cheaper to order them in the US. On the other hand the worktime is quite cheap here, and it's not an important factor for me in the whole operation (I can do some work by myself, I have both the possibilities and time to play with it), only the parts are essential. Okay, long story short this is the list of the parts I need:

-front bumper with grille and sidemarkers
-front shock absorber
-front left and right side fenders with whell housing
-right side of the radiator core support
-right side door mirror
-the hood
-the strut tower bar
-front windshield
-maybe some parts of the front right suspension (I haven't dissambled it yet, so I don't know what is damaged exactly)
-airbags: driver's and passanger's (only 2 airbags on this Z)

Those parts can be either new or used (in a fairly good shape), I am not that picky. Ofcourse I know that some of them can be bought on ebay, but I am also seeking for all other ways to collect them (maybe at places like http://www.pamsauto.com/ - only an example though, if you know better places, please post them, I don't have any experience with those used parts dealers in the US ). Could you advise me where to buy those parts? Please remember that I am not in the US, so I cannot get them by myself, those parts have to be shipped to Europe. I am also looking for the cheapest way to ship them, any suggestions about this would be quite helpful Thanks.

Sorry to hear about it ...Dam ---So many parts,-----First of all have u priced things like CUSTOM Bumper,Hood,Strut bar ???? If ur in Europe and I know there are Zs in Europe there must be some used parts, But ---The prob there as with here, is Zs get hit in the front not the rear.----Air Bags---Hmmmm 2000.00 here plus u need the clock spring and the module, nother 800.00. Plus prob seatbelts cuz they lock after a wreak---nother 400.00. Stuff like that ,I would scour the forum and put out requests. You will have to be ready to move and move FAST if u find them. Shocks, no big deal, Fenders u will have to bite the bullit on as with Core support and prob Rad and Cond. U have ur work cut out for u but if u got questions ask.
Strip it down then get on the computer and burn up the keys

I have some nice Base Headlights if the transport wont kill ya.

Thanks for quick reply.

Don't be sorry, that's my work, some people crash their cars, I rebuild them, that ain't my Z First of all, I've been thinking about replacing things like bumper, hood, strut bar with aftermarket ones...that's not a big deal for me, it is still much cheaper for me to buy like full carbon fiber body kit and hood in the US, than to buy those parts at Nissan dealer here (prices here are totally sick ). Yep, there are some Zs in Europe, but it's hard to find any used parts for them, and if you find any they ain't dirt cheap like in the US - I can buy used front fender for like 250-300 $, and for that price it ain't mint condition, it still needs some work to be done (few dents here and there). I have already done some research on the airbag and the prices are just as you told for new ones, but hey, there are some wrecked Zs which have been hit in the rear, with airbags still intact so I could cut the costs The rad and cond are ok, the small part of the rad support is dented and I want to replace it rather than repair it. I can repair some of the damaged parts eventually but the owner wants them to be replaced rather than repaired.

Thanks for the lights (you've guessed well, I also need them ), but yours are symmetrical and I need asymmetrical ones in Europe (so I'll have to find used ones or leave a small fortune at Nissan dealership for new ones )

And the problem with transport, really I don't have any idea how to easily, and reasonbly cheap send those part to Europe. I guess it will be cheaper to order them in one place, and send them directly to Europe, that's why I am looking rather for somebody who can supply all of them (or most of them). I was also thinking about buying a salvage Z at Copart, with heavly damaged rear end for parts only (they are dirt cheap there) but I consider it as a kind of emergency solution.

Car prices here are an overkill, how come you can buy a brand new Track or Grand Touring Z for about 35g $ in the US, when the Zs (Premium Pack spec.- equivalent of the Grand Touring) in the Europe cost like 68-70g $ That's why I am asking for your help

Witam was

I would check junk yards first in Germany/UK. Most Z's in Europe are sold over there, so more damaged one's around as well. Shipping is gonna be really expensive on those large parts you need if they need to come from the US.

HMMMMM --Iv been contemplating leaving the US. ---Wonder weather I should think about cruisin rather than flying and taking a stash of parts.
Prob. taxation and all that. UGH

Thanks for your help

I am already scouting for any parts in Germany and the UK, and I also decided to try in the US, as an alternative

Performance Nissan has a good OEM parts catalog. I do not know if they ship internationally though. You can send a private message to Andy@Performance and he may be able to help you.

I had to buy nearly all those parts you listed for my own rebuild. If they wont ship overseas, i can help you get them. Maybe ship to me, then i'll ship to you? I'm military, so i could probably get a good deal on shipping overseas if i ship it from base.

Hey! My wife is from Poland, was there in 2002, plan on coming over next summer.

Check with some soldiers on here, when I was stationed in Berlin they had an Army junkyard from soldiers cars, maybe one of the members here can locate parts for you. Also I know that the PX can order car parts as well, if you can get a soldier there to do it for you.

Good luck

in line with what gringott was saying, i've got the only USDM Z that i've seen in Bavaria so far -- you'd definitely have more luck up in the center of Germany, but as you stated earlier, USDM Z's are pretty hard to find in Europe (not too many soldiers have them).

I think the best way to do it would be to produce a finder's fee table for the parts you are looking for. I.e. put out a contract for people to find parts in junkyards (table should include what you are willing to pay for the part, estimated shipping cost, finders fee you are willing to pay). ex: I will pay this much for part #X, shipping should be $X, I will offer a finders fee of $X for this item.

Of course, if i'll keep my eyes open down here, but unless I swap out my shocks I don't know if there will be too many OEM parts around
