Default ABS Problem?

The car throws a code for the O2 sensor but when the CEL comes on the ABS system likes to kick in during low braking speed. Say I'm braking from a 40, when I reach 20mph and under the ABS always engages. I can feel the system in the brake pedal. The weird thing is that the "ABS, SLIP, VDC OFF" lights or whatever are off.

Does anyone have a clue on what this problem could be?

Hey I am in the same situation right now with my Z. What Nissan has told me so far: At first the ABS motor kicks on everytime you start your engine to do a self check. Then it is not suppose to come on again until you restart your vehicle. When I apply the brakes softly, the ABS motor comes on at around 15-20 mph everytime I hit the brakes now. I spent 2 full days at Nissan trying to figure out the problem with no answers. One of the mechanics told me that it could be a lot of things. I recently had a brake job done on the front end. The mechanic told me that everytime you get a brake job done on any Z model on the front end your rotors will more than likely have to be replaced. If not, then your ABS may continue to do a self check. So I have replaced the front rotors and had a whole new front brake job done at Nissan. This did not solve the problem. Next they checked all the sensors and relays with no luck. Every mechanic in the shop looked at my car and even had a master mechanic look at it and cannot figure it out. They are currently calling some regional mechanic for Nissan to come down to Orlando to see if they can fix the problem. I currently have 28,000 miles on my 04 base so hopefully they will solve it before the warranty is up. I think at this point I want them to replace it anyway due to the fact that it comes on close to 40 times a day. It only a matter of time before the motor dies. And I hear it is costly. I will check back with you if I have any answers from this regional Mechanic from Nissan.

Please help me out here ... what does this link have to do with the ABS engaging early and consistantly everytime the breaks are applied at low speed on dry roads? What else could it be besides a wheel speed sensor? My car is back at the Nissan dealer again for this issue and they have requested an engineer look at it now tomorrow. Anyone know what in the .... is going on?

* I ready this in another thread could this be the problem?

**The passenger axle stub wasn't completely in. It was out only about 3 millimeters which caused the ABS sensor not to align with the ABS teeth on the axle stubs. A quick push back in and problem solved.**

Where would I look to see if this is causing the problem?

Thanks everyone..

Me too, I'm going to clean the ABS sensors this week, see if that does it.
