Getting "Slip" light going full throttle at 65+ mph?
A few times, I have been going full throttle at about 65+ mph and the "Slip" light has come on a few times, only staying lit for a couple milliseconds.
This happen to anyone else?
I doubt I'm actually losing traction .
A couple of these times, the traction control actually put on the brakes only for an instant!

That is scary. I am guessing others will reccomend what my first impression is, take it to the dealership to get it checked out. This could get worse and cause you to have an accident if it were to lock your brakes up.

Mine did yesterday . . .It was a new road and had lots of concrete dust so it never lost traction but the slip light did detect the surface differences. It never applied the brakes and I was able to throttle up to 100 mph with it coming on and off like you said.
It does the same thing in entrance/exit ramps with hard curves (which I take way too fast ) Ok, maybe I am slipping a bit on these!

The VDC has a slight proactive tendency to it rather than a reactive one. When you push it a little hard, the VDC will engage even if it's before you start to lose traction.

I guess this is normal among Z drivers. I did notice that the light only came on when taking a turn, but I was barely pushing any Gs that would break my rear loose. Hmm...maybe need stickier tires. I've taken turns much harder before and no slip light at all.
Anyways, I'm going to call up the dealership and let them know about my situation.

Well, with the Enthusiast, I'm certain you have TCS, which is part of the VDC system. There's nothing wrong with you car... it's been well documented that the TCS is a tad overzealous in the G35, 350Z, and G35C...

I have to agree with POWERZ that you were slipping. I barked the wheels shifting to third at WOT and I also was able to bark them downshifting from fourth to third with a clutchless shift at about 75 mph.

Anyways, if the TCS is overzealous like you say, then I guess it is perfectly normal.
Thanks for everyone's help!
I guess this means stickier tires .

I was flipping through the channels Saturday afternoon and Car & Driver was comparing the G35C, Mustang Cobra SVT, and the RX8. One of their biggest complaint was the over-active traction control system on the G35C.

Damn, had to dig through 8 pages of posts (after I did a search!) to find someone else iwth this problem. I get this too, and at some pretty high speeds (80+).
I doubt I am spinning anything up HP-wise, but my guess it that it happens when I hit those stupid dots on the freeways we got here in CA. It is disconcerting, as it sure doesn't feel right having TCS come on at that speed, but... Guess it's normal, eh....?
