this is the second time i tried to fill up on gas. i put the nozzle in and push the handle up along with the automatic lever to pour gas. after about $10 worth of gas, the lever clicks off as though my tank is full. i then tried to hold up on the handle myself but it clicks again. the only way i can fill it all the way up is by repeatly pushing up on the gas handle over and over after each click. that would take forever to fill up my tank. this is the second consecutive time i've had this problem. anyone know anything about this?!?!
This issue had a TSB released for it, the link is below. If your can is under warranty, take it in and they will fix it.

Is this an 04 model? I caught a lot of crap from one dealer because they thought it was limited to 05 and earlier models. I took it to another dealership in town and they order the part and scheduled the appointment (the worst part is that it's owned by the same company..lol). I'm supposed to get the valve replaced in a couple of weeks.
By the way, I've found that if you refuel when the car is cold, it will let you fill the whole tank. The tech explained something about the vapors tricking the valve but when the car is cool it has less problems. This has worked for me everytime so far...

I'm getting it fixed AGAIN! Some idiot drove my car on the curb last week and damaged my side skirt and my Volks after getting the rear axel click fixed (again)! I dropped it off this morning (second time to date) and picked it up today after having the wheels repaired. They were supposed to replace the fuel filler cutoff valve at the same time, but nothing was done!
So I gotta drop it off next week (for the 3rd time) to get the sideskirts fixed and the fuel filler cutoff valve replaced, and the 2nd time better be the last time. ARGH!

it hasnt been doing it as much lately and it really doesnt bother me enough to have it fixed really...my sister with a g35 is having it fixed under her warranty cuz hers does the same thing...oh and no ive never had it fixed.
Hey, I had they same issue also and finally took it to the dealer last week. The replaced the shutter valve and some o-ring seal or something like that. I had my first trip to the gas station yesterday since the "fix" and i did have the automatic cut-off for the gas pump trip 2x before it was full but luckily it started right back up. One of the fastest trips to the gas station in a long time but doesn't seem to be 100% resolved but I won't complain, it beats being there for 10 minutes just clicking away at the pump and then getting in your car, look at the guage and see your still not completely full yet. Maybe my next fill up will be problem free.
It happened to my Z when the first few times I tried to fill up. Used a different pump and it stopped doing it. My buddy's wife has a Murano and did the same thing, it goes away eventually.
