For those who installed Mrev2 + Spacer themselves...help?
I installed the Mrev2 + Spacer myself...but there seems to be a leak where the spacer and the upper plenum meet. Did you have to use the stock gasket (the upper/bigger one)? If so, where did you place it? On top of the spacer or under or not used at all? I re-torqued everything again just to make sure, but it still leaked...help please!

i'm going to do spacer install next week. i think you have to leave the stock gasket where it was (on the bottom of the spacer, on top of the lower plenum). my spacer hasn't come in yet, but i've been reading the manual. it seems that the gasket is attached to the spacer when it comes? and that one goes on top of the spacer.

many people have done the spacer install themselves and over-torqued the bolts causing leaks (very common). Make sure it's wrist tight, you could potentially strip the plenum if you over-do it.
I just installed my motordyne 5/16" spacer this past week. It came with a gasket already adhered to both sides of it...thus enabling me to toss the factory gasket. No leaks. I even put a vaccum gauge on it the manifold just for grins...held at a steady vaccumm of 19.
I found out what was wrong...it was the strut bar rubbing against the upper plenum. It makes a weird vibration sound if this happens. Just to let anyone know in case they have the same problem!

So i've heard that when you reinstall the strut bar you have to torque the bolts down exactly right or there will be vibrations. is this true? if so does the spacer come with instructions on how tight to tighten the bolts back up? and lastly would you say that this install is easier or harder than the popcharger install? I'm not that mechanically inclined
Everything i've orderd from AAM has come with directions. If you're lost, just do some searching for help. If all else fails, post some pics and questions about what to do. I needed help earlier in the Forced Induction threads with pics and got TONS of help quick.
the bolts are around 25 lb-ft. the instructions do tell you how much you are supposed to tighten. Yes it is harder than an intake install, not by much, just loosening and tightening bolts, but it is fun. make sure you have a friend to help you hold the plenum up.
It's probably a daunting task if you've never done it. I've taken that thing apart 3-4 times because I thought it was leaking so after the 2nd time, it was a breeze. As for the strut bars, you just have to play with it a little bit. It tells you to torque down to 24 inch lbs but that's not what's going to save you from rubbing your plenum. Basically, if you get a spacer, you would have to add the extra washers (I used all of them). Then you can play with the tightening bolts on the left side of the strut bar (the jam nuts that make the bar longer/shorter). Make sure you can at least see the gap between your plenum and the strut bar. If it's too close, you'll definitely feel some rubbing (you'll know when you feel it on your gas pedal). Hope this helps. And don't drop anything into your engine bay. I had to fish out: a socket, and 2 washers...not fun.
If you have a metric socket set, and inch/lb torque wrench, pliers, and a flat head screwdriver- just try doing it. Read the provided directions word for word (very important) and come on this forum and ask people if you encounter problems. I don't know about a shop, maybe someone who's done it before...I wouldn't just trust any shop though. Now, I could do it in probably 1.5hrs (start-finish).
