Default They won't replace my tranny anymore! Help!

I have an '03 Touring w/ 30k miles and am in need of a 4th transmission. Everytime, it's either 5th or 6th gear grinding. The dealership told me their tech guy won't put another transmission in it, because they think it's from abuse. I'm not going to lie, I get on it occasionally (duh, it's a sports car), but 4 transmissions in 30k miles?!! That's ridiculous. I've never even tracked the car drag racing included. Thay said their rep is going to look at it in January. The tech guy (I did not talk to him) said he's aware of problems with the tranny's but has never replaced one 4 times. What do you guys think? Any suggestions?

Iv been slammin gears for 30+ yrs ---But for a time I went through the grinding 5th gear deal on my Z. I guess I just made some uncontious compensations in my shifting and it disappeared. It was my fault. I have an 03 with 55,000 and havent had a prob with the grinding in a couple yrs

Ask the tech how many bad trannys he's gotten straight out of the box. I watched my buddy put 2 MTs in the same car back to back, 1st one was bad. And then I turned around and did the same thing the next week. Nissan rebuilds them and whoever is doing it sucks.

i agree.. i don't believe we need to adjust our driving for a transmission.. nissan transmissions are very sensitive.. but to save from going through the hassle of having them always replaced... i shift slower to 5th

I notice the entry to 5th gear is rough. Do you guys who get grinding into 5th have a rough entry to the 5th gear gate, or is going into 5th just like other gears, only with an occaisonal grind?

It only grinds at a higher rpm going into 6th gear. If I ease it in very slowly it won't grind. If I put it in 6th normally from say 3rd or 4th gear at aboout 50 mph it grinds. Putting it in reverse is also cause a grinding noise. About changing my driving habits, I put 130k miles on a bmw and never had one bit of a problem with the mt tranny. It may be attorney time, this is ridiculous at 31k miles, I don't care how bad a guy abused any car. This should not happen.
