Default Stock 17" Wheel Problems

I thought it was just my continued bad luck, but I checked another 350Z Thursday night and found the same issue. The paint/powerdercoat on the 17 inch wheels is begining to bubble up. So far only one bubble on a given wheel. But I've gone from just one wheel having it to three in just a few weeks. Is anyone else finding these spots?

Not to second guess you, but is that the marking on the wheel put on at the factory? It is a little spot of paint that is on all wheels.

If it was in the same general loaction on each wheel I would have thought so. I only have spots on three of four wheels. Two are between spokes and one is on the edge of a spoke. I also don't know why they would put such a mark on them.

The dealer looked at them today and is calling Nissan.

It is supposed to be a mark to indicate the spot where the rim will be easier to install the tire at, I guess the low spot or something, it is a dab of paint on the wheel and all will be different, on your 4th wheel it might have fallen off.

I don't have specific shots of the wheels but I got some by chance. And you can see that they have a couple of dots on them as well.

Here on the lower left about an inch from the spoke:

Here on the bottom between two spokes:
