Default I Smell Burning Oil!!!!!

Alright...im back. im getting very frustrated with my Z...and i dont like that. heres my issue. whenever i run her hard....like maybe redline it once coming home from work....it smells like burning oil and theres a little bit of smoke coming from under the hood. no oil leaks anywhere......that i could find nyways. oil pressure is perfect. no overheating. no performance problems. no smoke out of the tail pipes. what do you guys think. can i take it to the dealership and have them look at without having to sell a kindey?????? and would whatever it is be covered under the original 5yr-60K warranty???

'03 Touring AT with just under 53K.

ANY AND ALL HELP WOULD BE HIGHLY APPRECIATED!!!!
thnx guys....and gals

If ur smelling burning oil, then it means oil is coming in contact with something hot ---Dont roll ur eyes back, U have to use logic.
The only thing thats hot enough to burn oil is ur exhaust system---Now Im taking for granted that the oil u smell is the pungent odor of oil that is comeing in contact with Hi heat. If there is smoke, it must be.
First ,I would chk my valve cover gaskets. Also ---u will have to jack the car up and drop the underpan ( piece of plastic ) and look for discoloration on ur exhaust system.
If u want to find it bad enough ,u will

My first oil change or two was performed without taking the bottom cover off..........resulting in a small amount of oil on the inside of the cover......just a thought.

Hi im kinda new here and I have been doing some modifying to my Z, I have an intake, intake manifold, headers and test pipes....the thing is now im smelling burning oil...and its worrying me, could it be from the test pipe install since thats when it all started? I have an 04 and am just afraid that im getting the oil consumption problem as I cant really check my oil..due to the dipsticks...inaccuracy and build structure, so every 3000 I just swap out 5 quarts. Ive checked all around the engine and have found no place where oil has contacted anything.

I have the same problem and have come to conclude that either my dipstick or valve cover is leaking oil then it is hitting the exhaust. The header is right there so it makes logical sence. Well I am going to take it to a local shop and get this confirmed when spring time comes around plus I have some headers that need installing so this should help kill 2 birds with one stone!!

i just started having this problem recently as well, i smell oil in my vents and sometimes see slight smoke/steam coming from my varis air duct. not strong, but i can tell it's there. i also don't see any oil stains on my driveway. i also don't take off my underpanel when changing oil so i wonder if it's the oil trapped there that's burning, i doubt it since it's kinda far from anything hot and if it was burning there, it probably wouldn't make it up to my ventilation system. weather around here makes it hard to check underneath the car though. i have an 06 with about 15,500 miles.
