Default arg, anyone have a strategy to remove the hood without opening it

gave this lady a bit of a tap the other day.

my car appeared fine at the time.

now Ive found out that the hood apparently did get pushed, the gaps arent even anymore and the hood seems to be hanging on something on the back passenger side hinge area; prohibiting me from opening it.

anyway; I assume the hinge is bent or something, should be easy to replace or just bend back. but I have to get to it... catch 22.

so how do I remove the hood without opening it? can I remove the quarter panels and get to it from there?

to remove the fenders you have to remove the hood, so like said above you have to force it open.

Try to remove the bottom splash shield then get something under there to push/force the hood open.

I know you've probably tried this... but have you tried having someone put the release while you pull up on the hood with your fingers?

it pops open fine, itll even lift about 3 or 4".

then it feels like theres something binding or catching; you can feel its the passenger side too.

Hmm? When you lift it, do you see the hood rubbing the fender towards the top corner? Sometimes when the hood is knocked out of alignment, those two pieces will hit.

All u can do if it is unlatched is determain where its hanging up, if its at the rear and u can see where, then grasp the hood on both sides and give it a solid very firm pull in the appropiate direction, U have to put a little *** behind it. If u do it right and arent afraid of putting some pressure on it, it will come. After it does, buy 2 hinges.

A lot of align probs ( doors, hoods, hatches etc ) are remedied on the later cars just that way.

Same as reassembly,if there is no damage and u have adjusted ur hinges the best u can ---Give it a tug.
BTW---Seems to me the hinge bolts are under the fender so u may have a little work to do
