well.. i was driving around china basin in San Francisco Saturday night. Light rain was falling and the road was a little bit wet. The streets had those rails for the buses. Anyways.. while turning onto a street with those rails on the road.. my wheels slipped and my back end came out. Luckily i was only going about 25mph. i was almost horizontal on the road before i regained control and put the car straight. My friend who was in front of me (m3 in my sig) did the same thing having his back end whip out.
I didn't see the SLIP light kick in or anything.. it should have tho right??

in the manual i read about the vdc and the traction control light. ill have to check again but i think it only lights up if you have something disabled, other than that its automatic. you can read in the manual about it.
im not exactly sure how the vdc works, but i think it only detects wheel spin when youre on the accelerator?
for example i needed to make a turn in an empty wet mall parking lot yesterday, and decided to have a little fun. i cut the wheel at about ~10-15 mph and taped the brake, the *** end just went around easily, i did a full 180... no slip indicator and no vdc. only when i gave it gas to get moving forward and the rear wheels started spinning when trying to get grip did the vdc start to kick in and the slip indicator came on.
this is just a recent experience with vdc, and i have no idea how it works
