Default 30k miles on my Z and got a Check Engine Light.....

is this normal? mayb all i need to do is take the z in for service @the dealers

Not normal. Need to find out what code it is throwing. Under warranty I presume, so take it in. Just don't let the dealer talk you into a ton of 'scheduled service" that you can do yourself (or maybe not)

keww thanks......i smell coolant boiling odor too sometimez.....hope mine test pipe, ypipe, midpipe didn't crack again to cause this

No. The 350Z dose not have some sort of Due Regular Maintenance light: one that tells you the car is due service (like changing the coolant). Check Engine means just that. There are plenty of threads about how to check the engine.

It could be a simple fuel cap loose.

Did you just fill up? Mine did the same thing, oddly enough at 30K too. But I had just put gas in and didn't get the cap on tight. I just took it on and off, and the light went away.

yea i'm running test pipes for almost a yr now.....

my is an 04'.....n fuel cap isn't da cause i think

but i'm takin my z to dealers for a physical exam soon

stop playing guessing games, get the check engine code checked at autozone, pep boys, etc

it's FREE

and once you KNOW what the issue is, the dealer won't get away with lying to you about what the problem is.
