Default engine removal advice needed

I need to replace my engine. The factory manual recommend to drop the engine and transmission together. Anyone know if there is room for the engine to come out from top? Also factory recommended to remove the A/C? Can you do it without removing the A/C? I don't want to recharge the system if I don't have to. Anyone with experience please jump in. Thanks.

Is that part of the 24-month service?

You can unbolt the AC from the block and leave everything connected just move it to the side. The easiest way to pull the motor is taking off the front and pulling the motor and tranny out through the front. Look in the FI area @ some of the projects that people have done. There's some pics.

Shoot, I missed that. No wonder mine runs a little rough. Have I voided my warranty by not replacing engines every 24 months?

I'm afraid so. I checked the service manual and we should also rotate the doors and hood/trunk every six months. Service on this thing is a biatch. However, the tires should be fine for at least 100,000 miles.

I caught the door, hood/trunk thing, but for some reason I missed the engine thing. Thanks for the heads up.
