Default Oil Leaking..

So all the sudden I notice a few small oil trails on my driveway, and my Z is the only thing that ever parks in that spot. Oil is slowly leaking.

Anyone know what's up? Happened out of nowhere..I'm thinking a seal is going.

I took it to the dealer but it was too late to start & finish whatever may be wrong so I'm bringing it in Thursday morning.

Lame...

Just bought it a couple weeks ago with 32k miles. Have my first problem already

Well my friend this is why you dont buy a used sports car in my opinion, I did it once and learned the hard way. I traded it in for a spanking new one, Z that is. Buying a used sports car is asking for trouble since you dont know how it was driven.

I have to agree unless you are mechanically inclined and financially able to repair it yourself. Going against my better judgment I bought a 2000 Celica GT-S only to have it in the shop more than I in my driveway for the 2 years I owned it; actually, it owned me!. In the end I ended up replacing the engine and trading it in.

As for your oil leaking, it may be easier to repair than those with oil consumption problems, it could be as simple as a gasket, or not Either way with 32k miles you should still be under warranty.

I suggest getting your vehicle up on some jack stands and crawling under with a flashlight. Look for any obvious leaks. If there is too much residual oil present, wipe everything down clean, drive for a few days, then check again. If the leak is coming from the bottom half of the engine you more than likely have a defective oil pan gasket, drain plug, or oil filter. Dip you finger in the puddle too. Sniff it and make sure it's oil. It could also be tranny or power steering fluid....

Yep just whatever you do DONT LICK ur finger!!!! Tempting as it sounds I dont think you'll live long enough to finger out if it was oil or tranny fluid
You can do ALL of that OR just check ur dipstick and see if you are low on oil etc. Good luck though let us know how it goes!

It was the seal on the upper oil pan...they replaced the lip seals, gaskets, o-rings, and resealed the pan.

...under warranty
