Anyone with 5K + miles and NO feather??
I am having the feathering problem and suggested in another thread (Tire Feathering:FYI) to study cars that are NOT having the problem. This was before I found this thread, which is a great start.
To summarize, I recommend collecting data from "lucky" owners to determine what is working:
Research summary,
Owners with more than 4000 miles on car, report the following:
1. mileage on front tires
2. Growling while braking (none, minor, major)
3. 4-wheel alignment actual measurements
4. highway driving %
5. related modifications (tires, wheels, springs, struts, compression rod, etc)
6. driver weight
7. average cargo (including passenger) weight and location
8. xxxxx VIN (not purchase or build date)
Someone (like myself) could crunch the data and develop a span of configurations that are working. Also useful would be any P/N changes incorporated by Nissan on 2004s.
I counted 25 owners on this thread with different models, most with over 5k miles. This is enough to get meaningful data, possibly a meaningful conclusion.
"An informed consumer is a powerful consumer."
For all owners NOT having the problem, replying with the above information. I'll collect the data and provide summaries. I'll also collect data from "unlucky" owners like myself and compare the stats. Get the word out...the more data, the stronger the case.

BobW;
To your data list, I would suggest adding the following:
(1) Model (Rim/Tire Size)
(2) Type of Driver: Mild (shifts @ 1500rpm), Average, Aggressive,
or AutoX - I suspect multiple hard braking is a contributing cause.
VIN# 2002 - 3000 miles - no feathering, no pull to right, no hopping. (17" Rims, Average Driver).
Since my 12 month warrantee is about to expire, I will at least have my alignment checked. I spoke with my Service Director (he's 1 of 3 and below the Service Manager) and he said he was aware of only 1 set of tires replaced. Since he also didn't know anything about the TSB, I'd say he just wasn't aware of much, or was BSing me.
