Default Where to find out oil capacity for different vehicles?

Ok, I have to change oil on about 4 cars. I'm getting calling places and they're giving me different answers on oil capacity. Is there a comprehensive site where I can find out? Autozone has a DIY database but it's like 30 bucks. Anyone know where I could find out without paying???

I just went to autozones.com, and did the following:
clicked repair info,
clicked specifications,
typed in "oil" for the search field,
clicked 'go'

If they have it in their database it will show free of charge. They didn't have anything listed for my 2006 z & sentra, but did have the wife's 2004 matrix.

Other than that post up your cars and lets see what we can fined for you...

^^ Have to agree with the Owners Manual being the place to start. Otherwise just assume 5 qts per vehicle and get a few extra.

Most vehicles use at least 4 qts. Start w/4 quarts, check the dipstick. If you don't see anything on the dipstick, add 1qt, keep doing that until you are just over the full mark, then start the car, run for about 5 seconds, shut it off and recheck the level, top off as necessary.

Also, you can try checking on google. Just search for the car year make model engine and the words "oil capacity".

Also, it may be written somewhere in the engine bay. My Integra, for instance, had it written on the air box.

I like the owner's manual idea although it seems like most people don't read them based on the dumb questions you see on the forum.

My point is that it's an old car. Why can't some people just answer the question instead of posting some BS about people asking stupid questions. The stupid thing is, if I had a manual with the info, I wouldn't even ask at all.

Do the Auto Zone thing ---Or as said the 4 qt per vehicle, then add----Not the end of the world if u get a few OZs over.
I own a shop and it amazes me that Owners Manuals are more often gone than there ---But thats the way it is. Since I work on everything and every phase of repair on everything from Asians to Amer to Diesel P/U to Tractors and ATVs and RVs,Iv reached over a 1000 times to get a guick check of something and its just not there !!
They must go where the socks in the drier go.
