Default Will EVERY 350Z owner getting tire feathering??

Im curious as to wether every single Z out there has the tire feathering issue. As of right now I have around 1300 miles on my car, and being as paranoid as I am, I check the tires almost every time I drive. I want to find at least 1 person with no tire feathring and at least 8k on the odometer.

Thanks for the help

NO. Most do not have this problem, as indicated by polls in this forum. The problem has been related to defective tires and/or misalignment.

Polls on this forum are ineffective to determine this because most people on this forum have not driven several thousand miles in their cars.

The answer to the original question is that nobody knows. Nobody knows what the cause or the solution is, and nobody knows what percentage of cars are affected. This won't become clear until a large proportion of cars get to the 5000+ mark.

Honestly, it would probably be better for everyone if the problem were universal, because then Nissan would be highly motivated to put tremendous engineering effort into a fix.

Please see this thread that I started:
https://my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24093

It is on 'page two' and is titled
"Anyone with 5K + miles and NO feather??"

Basically, there are people with 5K plus miles and no feathering.

Default Feathering...

Well I am in the same boat, only 1100 miles so far but I am worried about it. I will tell those who read this that my production number is in the 11*** range and I definitely have the bounce! So I am reading what people are doing to solve the problem and if Nissan doesn't "step up" as someone put it, I will eventually fix the problem myself. But I agree they should be working hard to fix all of our problem and make things right. We should not have to do it ourselves.

Default 350Z Tire Feathering

I have a 350Z Touring Model and I belong to the Nissan Car Club in the San Antonio Texas area. Multiple owners of the 350Z in my club have had this feathering problem with the tires. According to what most of them are telling me, it occurred around the 5,000 mile mark. One gentlemen took the car into the Nissan dealer and made his complaint while a Nissan Tech Representative was there. The Tech Rep authorized tire replacement under warranty. From what I am hearing, the problem results from improper alignment at the factory and I have heard comment that it may be related to front end suspension/design problems. I am at the 3,000 mile mark on my car and I have not yet had any problems with steering or the tires. However, I will keep an eye on this as I approach the 4500 to 5,000 mile mark.

A suggestion I'll make is this. Aside from contacting Nissan, Federal Laws in the United States protect against manufacturer defects. Anyone having problems with this tire feathering problem should notify the National Trasnportation Safety Board.

Everyone experiencing this problem now or in the past...
PLEASE POST on THIS THREAD
so we have a complete list. Nissan Dealers are acting like NNA and Nissan Technical have no idea that this is as big an issue as it really is.
The thread is only for VIN, location and when you reported the condition to your dealer.

Please Post!!!
