Maybe D-wolf could develop a little plastic disk to put under there and sell it to members for $50? LOL....sorry couldn't resist.

Man I thought I was the only one haha. Its at a certain RPM, in every gear. Everytime I hear it, I think it's the passenger window, it tricks me! I checked my spare the other day, and found a tool out of place. I put it back and for a little bit didn't hear anything. I guess my mind was playing a trick on me, because its still freaking there, and the tool is in its spot like its supposed to be.

I will try these few thing, and see whats up.

I stripped the whole back of my 06 a few months back, down to the metal. I could not find it. I even rode in the back while my friend drove and I can't tell where it comes from. If I'm driving though, it sounds as if it comes from the passenger side on the rear.
This rattle is the only thing that makes me want to get rid of the damn car. If the radio is off and the windows are up, that's all I can hear. It drives nuts.
I took it to the dealer too and of course they couldn't hear it either.
Pisses me off so fu%$$#### much. baaah!!!!! This car makes more sounds than my 01 pickup with 150k on it.

It should be from within the strut brace.

Default same issue

i seem to be having the same issue. every time i ride on a bumpy road, i get that sound. in my case though, my hatch shocks are gone, so i was thinking it was that, but then again when its closed that shouldnt matter. im gonna try to grease the hatch lock and see what happens.

If that doesn't work try taking off the plastic interior hatch piece and drive around like that for a while. This has been the only thing that got rid of mine 100%.

Also might want to check all the bolts to the latch catch that's on the car and the hatch. One of the bolts on the cars hatch part had completed backked all the way out and was sitting under my spare tire, however that missing bolt was not the cause of my rattle.

Man i'm having the same issue... its driving me borderline insane!

Here's my thread on the issue with pictures

https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....erior%2BRattle

I know exactly where it is... last resort would be for me to dril la hole into the hatch and spray some expandable foam inside to tighten whatever is rattling inside

if you strip down the trunk you will see plastic clips on the panel parts. these plastic clips get loose so over bumps and what not they make that annoying noise. What you need to do is take all the holes the plastic clips go into and tape around them a padded tape just to make the diameter of the holes smaller so when you pop the panels back in, they fit snug like a glove. It worked for me. Hope this helps.

For those that have stripped the interior and the noise still appears while all the places mentioned in the previous posts didn't do it, have you check the top of the rear shocks? To make sure all the bolts are tight including the nut that is on the shock rod.

I noticed that when I open the hatch and try to hyper extend it by adding a little pressure upwards and then letting it come back down to the normal fully open position, that those hatch shocks or at least the drivers side that I remember, made a very similar noise to what I was hearing.

I was thinking that this may be what I was hearing.

I never got around to removng the shocks yet though.

Default I have to find this Rattle!!!!

Hey guys,

I have been follwing this forum for a long time and i am freakin going nuts.

I have a 2007 350z and this "rattle" started not to long ago. It only happens when i hit bumps or dips. It is defenantly coming from the back. Thought it was the Hatch.

I took out everything from the back except the panneling and had 2 people climb back there at 2 dfferent times and they both said it was comming from the outside.

My Rattle is kinda loud but very noticeable and only over bumps! Help please!
I have taken it to the Dealership like 4 times and nothing!

Quick Note: A rattle some of you may have is next to the Latch for the Hatch is the Electronic Contoller that may give you that ticking rattle sound.
Remove the Panel to get to it. It's easy.
