I wish I saw this thread earlier. I have the same issue and I have talked with another person I know who had the same problem. I have the LED taillights from clearcorners and the same problems you have been describing. I was reading up on the ECU diagram. It turns out that the ECU throttle response is tied in directly to the brakes, hence when the brakes are applied the throttle is cut down to 20% or something like that. The ECU will see a change in voltage and cut throttle. When the brakes are not applied, I don't remember but I think the voltage is zero. Like I said, I still have the problem and I haven't fixed it yet, I just started driving her again this year. Anyway, I was thinking to fix the issue, I could install a resistor in the wire that goes into the ECU to make sure that it will read zero volts until the brakes are applied. And yes, I did also notice that the problem went away when the weather got warmer. It also makes sense when my cruise control would flash and kick off. It was because it thought the brake pedal was being applied.

If you do come up with some resistors that work, let me know. Thanks. I'll be measuring the voltage on mine to see what I will need but it would nice to have a comparison.

Default Resistor solution

I'm not sure that this is the real solution, but on this page, I found resistors that they say are needed when installing LED tail lights.

Another note is I was running on the clear jdm version of the 06 full led taillights. They worked perfect so it has to be a resistor issue. Well keep looking. Thanks to all. Im running back on stock lights now.

Did you get this resistor problem fixed?

i have this similar problem and brought my car in.

the tech said it was something to do with a brake switch sensor. basically the ecu thought the brakes were on when they weren't so it would cut air/fuel.

resetting the ecu didn't work, so they're ordering a new ecu to test it. they think it may be a physical short in the ecu.

Arthur

The code we had on your car was related to the speed sensor computer, this would all make perfect sence now..However,Im wondering why there was no issue with it on the dyno...

Ok,
Well I got tired of screwing around with it so I purchased some 2006 led lights and blacked them out. No more power problems!!!

I just installed some LED lights, and I'm having a weird "engine flutter" when I accelerate sometimes. Related issue?

emeraldmtns... You said yourself it was frustrating to not get an answer... I know you got '06 LEDs, but can you offer any suggestions? Maybe you could get out a multimeter and test the resistance on your stocker '06 LEDs? Are they working as they should now?

I'd like to know what size resistor I should put on the lights to get them to work as stock. Anyone?
