05-06 owners review?
no problems at all. 2006 GT, MT, Rev-up, Stillen Stage 2 (recently installed, running great), Interlagos...with 12k miles. It doesn't burn a "drop" of oil from when I purchased/new with 31 miles on it. I have heard of the problems with some of the 2006 VQ RevUps, but mine is absolutely fine. I change the oil religiously a 3k or 3 months. Still use "mineral based" oil. There's a lot of debate on that subject whether to go synthetic or not.
Zero problems, I mean none at 21,000 miles in 9 months. I'm watching oil consumption, but the concern seems to be going away. Hope, hope, hope. At present it's at a rate of less than 1 qt/5000 miles.
06 Base Z.
TPMS was flashing at me as soon as I drove off the lot (dealership's fault)
Driver side window motor failure at around 3,300 miles. Still worked but if you used the auto up feature it would bring itself down about 3 inches. It's a common problem discussed here. I just lived with in until my first oil change when the dealership replaced the motor under warranty.
2 days ago, with about 6,500 miles on the car, on a highway drive all of a sudden my TPMS started flashing again (flashing means system error). I checked the computer display and only one wheel was displaying a pressure the other sensors weren't even registered. That went away though after I shut the car down and started it up again... strange.
Only other problem is I can't come up with enough reasons to go drive it

Lemme see..I have an '06 Base with 7k miles on it and my problems have been:
1. The nut holding my rear license plate stripped out when taking my 30 day tags off and putting my permanent tags on.
2.That's it.
I have had no problems from my car that would be considered major other than what I listed. My tranny is fine but a bit noisy (shifts smooth as butter I might add) . I changed the oil at 1k miles, 3k and 6k. To this day, it has not used a drop of oil. Once, and I mean just once, my outside temperature reading froze at 55 degrees and was stuck for a few hours (it was more like 75 outside) and my driver's window refused to go down, once.
I'm happy with my car.

Rear axle clicking, fixed by TSB. Model and year in my sig.
As a new owner, I installed some Hawk HPS brake pads. worst decision ever. Very unsafe and no bite when the pads are not heated up.
If you, like many people, cannot stand the insane amounts of brake dust with the stock brake pads, go with axxis ultimate pads (get rotors resurfaced when you install).
Or even better, just upgrade to the stoptech stage 2 brake kit from the beginning. check out mynismo.com
