Brake Squeek at 3,800 miles
I noticed today when applying the brakes I got that sharpe annoying squeek. Anyone else get this yet (and how many miles on your car?)

How hard are you applying the brakes when you get that squeek? If it's only very slight pressure, then it's just a little normal brake vibration that occasionally occurs with some cars, perhaps aggrivated by brake dust. This would be nothing to worry about (mechanical-wise) but certainly annoying. There are some possible fixes for brake vibration.
If your brakes squeek / squeal with moderate or hard pressure something could be wrong or worn excessively. Get it checked out.
Maybe some others will have some ideas........

Brake dust? Didn't know that could cause a squeek, because I haven't cleaned my rims in 1 month atleast, they look black powercoated!
It only squeeks at soft pressure braking, so hopefully when I clean that dust off it'll go away. Thanks for the info

Cleaning the rims won't help it. The squeaking is coming from the brake pads vibrating during low brake pressure. In my previous post I was speculating that any brake dust buildup between the pads and rotors could facilitate the squeaking.
There are various methods of stopping the squeaking: (1) stick-on, thin paper-like spacers that are put behind the pads or (2) a rubbery compound that is spread over the inside surface of the pad.
My brakes squeaked very slightly the first 200 miles and then it just went away. I have 3,000 mi. now.

I cant remember if the Enthusiast model has the Brembos but the previous post re the brake dust is spot on.
The Brembos on the Z are the same on Subaru and a range of other cars and the standard pads all have the same problem.
I tried everything and gave up !

Should new discs and pads be bedded in and if so, how?
The answer is yes, for optimum performance, any time different friction materials or discs are introduced, a bedding procedure should be carried out.
While the vehicle is stationary, pump brakes to ensure a firm pedal.
Drive the vehicle cautiously to test fit and function.
The brakes should be smooth, with no vibrations, judder, etc.
Drive the vehicle to a remote area and perform at least 30 brake applications of 3-second duration. Use light/medium deceleration with varying starting speeds. Leave at least ½ mile between each brake application.
The purpose of this procedure is to gradually increase the temperature in the components without inducing thermal shock, and to mate the brake pad and disc friction surfaces.
After the repeated stops, drive the vehicle for several miles with little or no braking in order to adequately cool the components.
After the above process is completed, the system is ready for normal use.
When the system achieves elevated brake temperatures for the first time, a slight increase in pedal travel and pedal effort may occur. After this first "fade" and proper cooling, the system will maintain its optimum performance at all temperatures.
You can also perform a series of 10 moderate brake procedures in a row going from 50 to 30 mph.
I guess I've never bedded my brakes before, since this is the first I've heard of it.
I just make sure that the first 200 or so stops are easy so that the pads and discs are broken in together and don't overheat.
Maybe this "partially beds them". I've never had a problem with squeaky brakes, though. I guess they can't get out of bed.

I have brembo brakes and they started to squeal around 400 miles. The squeal is only noticable when I am about to come to a complete stop with light pedal pressure. It is not reproducible. However, I noticed that the squeal occurs more often when the temperature outside is warm.
