Default Nissan won't install Factory Nissan Products

Bought a lot of items for both my Nissan's from Performance Nissan and installed all of them except for the (2) serpintine belts for my 02 Maxima.

Called the local Nissan dealer and they stated they would not install parts that were not bought from them. I explained that they are Nissan parts purchased from a different Nissan Dealer. The ***** on the phone said she would not install them. WTF?????????

Will Nissan Corporate do anything? I just don't have the tools or time to do this maintanance. All the other shops will not install them either. This is such BS.

You can try calling Consumer Affairs... The dealership I used when I lived in Fayetteville would install Nissan parts for me, regardless of where I got them from. The local dealership here in Durham said they'd do the install to. Just had to show proof-of-purchase, such as receipts and such.

Lodged a complaint against the dealer, however Corporate says Independent dealers can do what they want! A waste of 5 minutes!

take it to a local auto shop. It's usually cheaper then a stealership.

I think he meant a local mom-and-pop shop or private garage. They are usally highly skilled (scrutinise the shop heavily, though) and are cheaper as well.

I have one that I go to for basic maintenance and two that I use for performance upgrades, installs and tuning.

Think I will just have my brother-n-law do it, he is a Master Tech at a Ford dealership! Problem is I have to wait until my next vacation!

The problem is liability for them. They dont want to assume the huge liability issue on parts they cant vouch for the quality of. These are often requirements from their insurance carriers and not negotiable by the dealerships.

I used to handle commercial liability policies and the dealership just doesnt have much of a choice if they wish to protect themselves.

so a factory Nissan part with a Nissan dealership receipt that has the Nissan logo is not a factory part?

How about they just want more $ in their greedy a$$ pockets!

I feel your pain man, and you could be right about them trying to get more $$$. But, I have seen several policies that state, if they dont sell it, they can't install it.

You're lucky- my local stealership used to do this but the new owner won't allow it. They made an appt with me and then called me to cancel!!!

I asked if they sold tires (had them in stock) and the answer was 'no'.

The real joke is that they continue to send me their mailings touting their service!!!!

Do the belts yourself. Take 1/2hr. max. All you need is 10,12, and 14mm. sockets

i'm guessing that is your altenator belt and a/c belt. Those are so easy bro, there are 2 belt tensioners under there you turn one way, pull the belts off, put the new ones on, slowly tighten them down untill there is only a small amount of play left in the belt.

+1 on buying nissan belts, i had aftermarket ones, they squealed on cold start ups, pissed me off. I swapped them out myself after a refund, there was only a $14 difference.

Good luck with things, if you were closer to me i would do the install for you.

or just take your receipt... and the product... return it and repurchase it for them to install... that makes them feel like scumbags then lol
