Rev Meter got stuck
Has this happened to anyone?
First time it happend to me. I was driving in traffic switching gears constantly, when the rev meter got stuck at 1k rpm. Got stuck for about a good 5 mins of driving in traffic, then twitched up to 2k rpm, did not even smoothly transition but suddenly jumped up to 2k rpm. After a while it began to work again.
Then it happens again for the 2nd time. It got stuck at 1k rpm again.
It's fine now and works perfectly. Don't know if it might happen again.
Should I get it checked out?

that used to happen to me all the time in my 1985 Toyota celica. It would stay high or low, or bounce up and down... it was weird. I just assumed it was due to the age of the vehicle (20 years old). Maybe the wiring on the tach is bad?
if it only happens spratically, i doubt nissan will be able to replicate it. Only time i've had problems with something like this, is after a gauge color change. Once you swap out the backing's and the needles their never the same. Sounds like you probably have a faulty circuit in your cluster. (watch for armor all, that will f*ck your electronics up over time from build up.)

this just happened to me yesterday for the second time...my car only has 4K miles on it and it's an '07. I called the service department at nissan and i scheduled an appointment for this saturday to get it checked out. I'll let you guys know what they tell me.

Used to happen to me month after I got the car, it's normal. Posted a thread asking about it, if the sun stays directly on the tach for a good amount of time, it gets stuck for about a while. About 6 months into owning the car, bought it brand new, issue went away. IMO, must be all the heat that's created from the tach, light + black = heat, and the warmer weather. Wouldn't be surprised if mine started acting up, and I live in the desert.

happens to me too... direct sunlight on the center where the needle pivots. If I put my finger in a position to block the sunlight from hitting the needle, after a few seconds it starts working again.
I'm wondering if it gets too warm, expands, and is physically being prevented from moving. It is really annoying... i've been thinking about tearing the thing open and covering the pivot point of the needle with a black but heat reflective material.
