How to get a good DIPSTICK reading!
I'm not sure if this will work for everyone, but, I was having an impossible time getting a good reading from the Oil Dipstick. The normal trick of sticking it in all the way, twisting it back and forth, waiting for a few seconds and then pulling it out was just not working. So, I tried something different and it worked every time.
I cleaned it off, stuck it in, left it alone, counted to two (clicked my heels) and briskly pulled it out.
For some reason, the color of the oil was no longer clear even though I had just changed the oil with Mobil 1. The oil was quite dark and the reading was an unmistakable 3/4s. The reading did go up a little over time. Maybe some had still not drained all the way to the oil pan because I had just used the recommended 5 Qts.
Anyway, just thought you might want to give it a try.
