Nissan Said Deal with It!! Essentially - Need Help
Just came back from dropping my 05' Z off at Nissan to replace my broken CD Player and to get some noises fixed. There's 2 distinct noise which I do not believe are normal and maybe you guys can help me out here.
Noise 1: In a lower RPM/higher gear, when I accelerate I hear what sounds like a can of spray paint being shaken (a rattling noise) coming from the front of the car, maybe the engine. Noise is very apparent at a low speed and then accelerating (especially in a higher gear).
This isn't the same clutch/Flywheel chattering when you turn off the engine, as it sounds more of a rattling and becomes more audible as you accelerate then goes away after 1-2 seconds. Again, this occurs most often taking a turn in 3rd-5th gear. No saying you should take turns in 5th gear but still, theres an unpleasant noise.
Nosie 2: Clicking sound coming from Axel when braking, occurs when car has been sitting. I've heard plenty of people on the forum with this same problem and there's a TSB on it I believe.
First Technician Test Drive - Couldn't even hear the Noise 1 and said the Noise 2 is due to my brakes shifting.
Second Technician Test Drive - Noise #1while driving 10-15 mph, shifted to 4th and gased it to produce the "rattling sound". Sound was extremely apparent and said that its the engine shifting and theres NOTHING THEY CAN DO despite pointing out that my friend's 04' doesnt make this sound and test drove an 07' which doesnt make the sound either. Noise #2 - said they're going to lube the axcel (thought they would replace something?).
Now I'm not sure if you guys heard of cars driving by and with this rattling sound but its awful and wanted to see if anyone has this problem, what the problem could be, and how should I deal with Nissan?
Thanks for all your help

I have an 03' Enthus. and had the second noise, but nissan said that it was something in the susp. They said they fixed the problem and i didn't hear it for awhile. But not long after the 3 year warranty was up started hearing the same sound again, plus my BRAKE light inside the car would stay on. Took it back to them and they pretty much took a dump on my head!! no help at all even though this was an issue in the past. I love my Z but have been very dissapointed in their service!!!

i'm not sure how many dealers you have in your area, but i had to switch from the lot i bought the car at to the one down the interstate. Well when i switched, a couple of the tech's have Z's and are more than willing to help. Some people at the stealership are bonus hunting and others dont give a damn and are out to please others. Gotta find the right people and more action might be taken to help you out.

Thanks All,
Another kicker is they said they won't do any maintenance as I have coilovers and that voids all warranty. I did some research and according to the Magnuson Moss Act, they have to prove that the aftermarket changes are at fault for the noises. This is ridiculous as there's a TSB to Noise #2. As to noise #1, I will keep looking for the problem.

I've had noise #1 since the first month I purchased my 06' Z. I now have 21k miles and it still does it when I get of the line slowly or accelerate from a low speed while in 2nd or 3rd gear, I also heard it today while taking a right turn in 3rd gear and accelerated out. All my friends and I believe it to be engine knocking. I've always used 93 octane and for the past several months have only used Shell gas. Just had my oil changed to Castrol(German) hoping it would go away...I guess I'll be visiting the dealer this coming week.
