I searched and found some similar problems but none exactly or with results. When starting my Z for the last couple days it has been really slow. I've had to keep the key turned for 5 seconds plus as it trys to turnover. Today I had to keep it cranked for 10 seconds to get it to start. Is it most likely the batter or could there be another common problem. I plan on just taking it to Nissan if I can't figure it out by tomorrow. Thanks.

 

how old is the battery
does the motor sound like its turning over normally
when you start it is there any smoke

 

The battery is prolly almost two years old...yeah the motor sounds perfectly normal and no smoke.

 

sounds like you need a new crankshaft sensor... Are you throwing a code??

 

Hard starts ---Battery----Apples and Oranges, though at 2 yrs your close to new Batt Time---Could very well be CS, or pump pressure---There will be a code. Your killing your starter

lucky, one lasting that long in AZ is really good and almost insane! mine only lasted a year and 1/2
