Default Brake light problem

recently my brake lights intermittently stopped working and now they don't work at all. Driving lights are fine. I checked power going to the brake light switch and its getting 12 volts but the wires at the brake lights are not getting any power. Any ideas? I've heard some people say you can adjust the brake light switch but i have no idea how to do that or if that will help??

did you install anything or move anything where the wires are running? I had a problem similar to this and it turned out to be a screw that had barely pierced a wire and caused a short. Another time it was from taking a cover panel off and putting it back on...it pinched a wire.

Fixed. Yes i had an aftermarket alarm/remote start installed about a year and a half ago. One of the wires going to the brake light switch turned out to be loose and popped off after messing with it a little bit. Everything is back to normal now though
