Sputtering During Warm-up
ok . . i got a tip from someone in you tube . . about getting a full ecu reset/relearn done . . which includes [ECU reset, Accelerator pedal release position learning, throttle valve closed learning and idle air volume learning ]
http://www.technosquareinc.com/350reset.htm
. .but before i did it, i wanted to know if it has been done before . . . . . although i know that some of the members were talking about it in this thread long long ago . . but never posted back about this . .sooo . . please let me know if anyone has done these regarding this issue . . . thanks

Will be done by my mechanics with the Consult III ODB tool...
But try from your own way, it couldn't be bad !
I made seceral ECU Reset whitout any change for my part, but never test the accelerator and throttle ones...

That's what told me the mechanic...
Another time, I have to check it from myself, but he told me that the car don't sputter anymore.
I also really suprised about that ! Let me drive the car and I will confirm you.
SRS AB, I watched your video several times, and it really seems to be the same issue...

So, I try the car, just one time (when I picked up the car from the garage) and it wasn't sputter.
But to make a serious test, I'd prefer make several cold tests and revert you with a consistant feed back ! Beegining of next week, I will keep you posted .
Here, the mechanics feed back, they checked the spark plugs (they were fine), ignition coils, and made several tests with the Consult III (the ODB Nissan tool), they also checked the O2 sensors (upstream and downstream: AFR sensor and Oxygen Heated Sensor), and it appears that one of them (the O2 B2-S2) worked intermittent. Then, they changed it and reset the ECU.
Previously, throtle bodies was cleaning.
Went to Nissan garage fourth times, two different garages... I'm a little fed up with this issue !
I still waiting for another feed back, to close this issue together !

soo far soo good . . . so this O2 B2-S2 sensor is the passenger side o2 sensor connected to the catalytic converters ?
Driver side, O2 sensor, after the catalytic converter

Ref. 22690N
Strange, as I always heard that this sensor is not use for the engine management, but just to check the catalytic efficiency...

hmmm . . . soo if one side goes and the other dosent goo . . .one side is running richer than the other side . . . (i cant think of any other reason) . . . can someone with this issue (who also has a cypher) check the A/F for both sides ?
Honestly, I don't know...
I think that the engine start to work in closed loop too early, why, don't know too...
As I know AFR are monitor by the upstream O2 sensors and was fine, the mechanic changed one of the downstream O2 sensor.

Hello !
So, few news, bad one's unfortunatly, I made few cold starts this week-end, and guess what...
Engine still sputter
And 500 bugs for nothing !
Then, what should be the next steps to fix this ? Honnestly, dunno...
I let the car to the garage fourth time, in two different Nissan dealers. No one was able to fix this problem !
The truth is that whitout DTC the mechanics can't fix a bad running. I assume that the problem come from a worn spare part as the problem doesn't exist whith a brand new car, but which part
- Spark plugs: NO
- Ignition coil: NO
- O2 sensors: (TBC)
- Engine coolant temperature:
- Vaccum leaks:
- Crankshaft sensor:
- Exhaust valve timing position sensor:
- IVT:
- MAF sensor:
- IAT sensor:
- TP sensor...
I waiting for an appointment for a taylor made tune of the ECM (ECU), maybe it will improve the cold engine running...

damn . . i thought you were upto something there . . .
ok, soo i guess its a good idea to maintain the list of stuff that has been changed and does not fix the issue
- Spark plugs: NO
- Ignition coil: NO
- O2 sensors: NO (upstream and downstream)
- Engine coolant temperature:
- Vaccum leaks: ( temperature/time specific leaks is unheard of . . soo ill say NO)
- Crankshaft sensor:
- Exhaust valve timing position sensor:
- IVT:
- MAF sensor: at least cleaning old ones - NO
- IAT sensor:
- TP sensor...
