Bad news from Nissan dealer, no update software available for our ECU....

And it seems that the Nissan dealers can't reinitialize the ECM with the Consult III, damned it !!!

Hey Greg,

Are the 07-08 G35 Sedans having similar issues?

Once I start the car if I put it in gear and leave right away theres less of a chance of it sputtering. The lower the gear the more violent the sputter, but like you guys said, if i just let what ever gear i'm in wind-out it will go away
Same issue that us, we're a lot with the same problem, but anyone with a solution, Nissan included

I'm really don't know what Nissan waiting for to solve this huge issue!

I'm fed up with this story...

It seems no... I also guess that 350Z Roadster / AT are not invovle with this issue, as different ECM too...

108NismoZ, could you please confirm us that the AAM reflash definitively fix the issue ? Thanks a lot for the feedback, will bevery helpfull !

That it seems some "flash" don't solve the problem:

Unfortunatly, performance reflash ECU/ECM seems to be the only solution...

Can all the owners involve with this issue can take a picture and note the VIN number of their ECM/ECU ?

Then, we will able to make a list of all the ECU, and person, then to send it to Nissan...

I have older AAM reflash for HR and have sputtering. Did AAM redesign the flash update?

Thanks for the input SQLSolarZ.

Don't know if AAM design update reflash for HR

And why AAM reflash solve 108NismoZ's sputtering...

Anyway, I noted several common symptoms that maybe help:

- The P0300 Random misfire DTC code, may occur when you insist to rev the engine during sputtering around 2000 rpm,
- The high idle, around 900 rpm with a warm up engine (A/C off),
- Exhaust sound unusual,
- And of course the 1800 rpm sputtering... Lower gear, higher sputter... Lower speed, higher sputter.

-It also seems that 100 RON octane fuel solve the issue.

All that symptoms look like a lack of fuel, or too much air, then: lean condition... But too weak to throw a DTC !

Thanks FastGreg. I'll try to get it to throw a code and compare.

I also went for a Re-tune in Austin TX. Because they had said they could help me with that sputtering problem, cuz they had also uptdated their software/program got home and turned it on the next morning and no luck. Sputtering is still their to this date.

Unfortunatly, it seems logical as ECU designers re-write the ECU map under the stock data... And don't start from scratch. They just adjust some parameters, for exemple UpRev:

Idle RPM
Speed Limiter Electronic
Throttle Control to achieve Wide Open Throttle at all speeds.
Rev Limiter
DTC disable
AFR Targets Fuel
Compensation Ignition Timing Advance Cam Phasing for equipped vehicles.

If our problem come from another parameter, no way...

Like this one for exemple (use translator): http://blogs.yahoo.co.jp/neko_technology/1843053.html

Maybe, it will be a good think to list all the owners (FastGreg, SRS Airbags, SQLSolarZ, MM'08_350Z, archangel72, Barbade, Stylett9, Diablo25mn...) who deal with this sputtering (you can easily confirm the symptom with the several videos), and mention all the specs of the car: year, model, AT/MT, VIN, mods, ect ?

List should appears in the first message of the 3 years old thread

As it seems we're a lot !!!!

If you're agree I will list all the persons and cars with this problem, the we will be able to send it to Nissan ?

It will be helpfull I think if you can note your ECU VIN also... Or check with Nissan Fast the ECU reference.

Hoooooooooly isht at all the new info since I last checked this thread. Well it's been another year since I posted my video/story and, like religious clockwork, my car is still sputtering on a daily basis.

Great info you guys have been getting during the past 6 months though. My details are as follows:

2007 Base M/T. Bought used with 11,000 miles.
Currently has 39900 Miles, Issue started around 15,000 miles.

Only engine mod:
Turbo XS catback

Had the issue checked by two dealers last year when I used to live in Miami, and went through a 2 month ordeal in which my car was at the dealer almost every weekend. After no one could find an answer Nissan brought in some Regional Tech Guru, and all he could say was "It's your engine oil." After about 10 oil changes, it's pretty clear my oil consumption is not the issue here.

I've been ignoring the problem for about a year now but reading the last 10 pages I hadn't caught up on got me all riled up again >____<
