Sputtering During Warm-up
#241
Somehow, I don't feel it has anything to do with the type of oil you're using.
Sounds more like an injector, bad gas (i.e. polluted with microscopic debris) or electrical problem. The stealership WILL charge you a lot for whatever
check-up they may make, unless you're under guaranty.

could it be a tuning problem?! goodluck! I know Profink did the techno square reflash and it didn't fix anything but maybe you'll have better luck. Keep us posted.

update2: today no sputtering under warm up. my wife having the same exact vehicle however has stated she is still experiencing the sputtering during the warm-up even after the flash. i'm going to be testing tomorrow as well to see if the sputter occurs.

your seems to buck at a different RPM range, but when you say buck, that really makes me feel it's the exact same problem.
to help cope with my bucking since i almost rear ended a car awhile back is to feather the clutch like your new to driving manuals. you know where you rev and accelerate with the clutch only half way out? this will obviously wear your clutch out pretty quick if you drive like this all the time, but i do it only when the "bucking" happens, and it helps make me not get so aggrivated.

man....
definately keep us posted on pro-longed driving and if it ever comes back. If a reflash solved your issue, i wonder what is it about the tuning that is not right... and why it's not consistant with ALL z's.

just to compare with what we have right now... the best could be also the timing map.. but ok.. enough.
I'm surprised that profink still has the problem with the technosquare reflash.. and he hasn't with the AAM (they should be the same... unless AAM has personal specs for that.)

I wanted to add that I also have this same issue, I just been dealing with it. Eventually Nissan will have to catch on to it, just like the slave cylinder recall. But it did start occuring around Decemberish.

I changed my oil to sythetic Lucas w/ 1 quart of synthetic oil stablizer, ran around for about 6K (made the spuddering alittle worse) and recently changed back to synthetic castrol about 3 weeks ago and haven't had a spudder since. This was a daily issue but so far the engine note will change when its warming up and when it usually would start spuddering it just stops now.

so far so good for me since the flash. i'm hoping this isn't a weather related thing like when the temperatures start getting colder.. but i thought we already ruled that out so who knows.
