rattling noise coming from underneath in neutral.
hi guys. pretty new to this forum thing but here i go...
well when i have the car in neutral just sitting still there's this annoying rattling noise i get from underneath the car. funny thing is when i push the clutch in the sound goes away. i had a weird feeling it might be the clutch so i did get a new clutch kit for my car. (i work for nissan so i bought the kit for 200 bucks, not bad huh?) but do u guys think replacing the clutch would fix the problem?

Normal to a point......Disingaged, the T/O has no Load on it and will make a little noise. But if bad, will make a lot of noise.
Engaged... there is load and the Ball Brgs are at zero tolerance---Generally no noise, even if bad.
Right now I have a Ford F350 Diesel here that has a trashed clutch and T/O is sounding like its ready to explode, engaged or disengaged.
I asked him ( I knew the answer) if it had given him warning, He laughed. That verified my question
I might add......This Ford F350 also has, just like the Z, a dampened F/W. As with a Z, Im going to trash it and go with a one piece FW
