Hey guys,

Recently I've noticed a drop in my gas mileage, especially during highway crusing in 6th gear. I used to net 30 MPG + going 80 mph in 6th and now that has dropped to 25 MPG (steadily drops). I'm basically just going through gas faster and I'm not sure why. The only thing I've done recently that I can think of is put in ENEOS 0W-50 Race Oil. My air filter (HKS) looks dirty too and I'm at 93k miles on OEM plugs. Would changing the oil to a lower viscosity, putting in a fresh filter (cleaning out MAF and TB in the process), and changing spark plugs restore my cars fuel efficiency? Any other suggestions?

Oh and one more question. I want to eventually boost my Z (within maybe a year or so depending on if I get hired soon). Should I just switch to 1 step colder plugs right now since I need a tune up ne wayz? Would that mess up fuel efficiency or significantly lower power ratings on my NA block? *sigh* Yes, I'm pretty frantic right now. I'm trying to get my foot in the door writing for a few magazines and it's proving extremely difficult making any money doing this and I cant seem to find any place that is hiring to make som side income. *sob*

 

get new plugs.i dont care if the book says 105k for plugs.30 for me and then new ones.

 

Why would you spend the money on Race oil for a street car?
