When I set it to recirculating air the AC light always comes on. When I turn the AC off the air automatically changes to drawing air from outside. This happens with both heat and cold air at any temperature and with the air set to blow through any of the vents. I don't remember this happening before. Is this normal?
Is there a way to turn it off? Sometimes, I like to have the heater on with recirculating on, but no a/c. I get exhaust fumes at stop lights if the vents are opened.
No, it's like that on all Nissans. My Frontier does the same thing. You have to manually turn the re-cirrculation button back on. Personally I believe it's a piece of $hit design, but that's how they designed it. It's suppose to be smart, but most of us like myself don't want outside air. Like you stated, outside air is polluted and stinks of smog, especially if you live in a traffic infested area. What pisses me off is you can be driving down the street with the A/C set to recirrculate air, then make a temp change and not realize the system just automatically set it to bring in outside air. Next thing you know, you're sitting in traffic and inhale a lung full of some rusty old truck's exhaust infront of you. Then ya gotta roll you windows down just to get all that crap out the cabin, and start all over...
yea i hate this!
in oklahoma, there is ALOT of rusty trucks with exhaust pouring out in the sickest ways and then the trucks full throttle from lights thinking they are in Nascar.
Bump, how do you turn on "inside air" and not get the ac to turn on? I want to use heat on inside air just like the TS said but everytime I try inside air the ac turns on. When the ac turns on and I go to turn the ac off as soon as I do the outside air begins to come in. I have a 2006 350. Please assist, the owners manual doesn't specify.
