Default Grinding gears DAMNIT!!!

The Z was fine when I first had it for a year until I started racing it. So whenever I shift normally (slowly, patiently, nicely, non aggressive... you get the idea) nothing happens. When I decide to test my car, I grind 1st to 2nd, even when I double clutch that, and 5th to 6th.. My bf's father (master tech) advised me to replace the syncromesh but is there anything else to it? It's added .few seconds to my time!!

From my understanding you shouldn't be double clutching a synchronized transmission. That's only for non synchronized tranny. Your just going to have to learn the car better. I had a problem with first to second but learned quickly before I tore something up. From first to second (IMO) there a little bit of extra finesse you have to apply there, unlike the other gears. So far as fifth to sixth, I don't know what to tell you there. Never heard of it happening. Just try to feel them out and it will come to you.

is the stock tranny dual cone syncro from 1->2 or triple cone syncro like the S2000?

Put some AMSOIL gear box fluid in there, should clear right up.

That's it? Put some oil in and I'm good?! That seems like a cheap and easy repair. But I was told to replace the syncromesh. Does that sound right?

replacing synchros is labor intensive and expensive job. it may even be cheaper to replace the trans (new aroun 1300 from dealer if you get a hook up) changing fluid is not a guaranteed fix but its first thing you need to do. these transmissions dont shift well with thick fluid thats why Nissan recommends and requires(during warranty repairs) 75w85 not 80w 90 like a lot of others out there. you should not double clutch it has no benefit on these transmissions. whats the milege?
