Default Rev limiter!!!!!

Is it just my car, or does everybodys rev limiter kick in right at, and I mean right at redline? Everycar I drove before this, let you go over 200-500 RPMs before it started to bounce.

Mine goes past redline only when in manual mode. Full auto shifts on redline.

I hope hitting the rev limiter past redline doesnt damage the engine.

Mine kicks in right at redline. Annoying as ****, whatever though, better annoyong than expensive engine repairs. It does seem like right as I am having fun, it limits me though.

rev limiter is designed to kick in at redline. you can sometimes get it to go past redline depending on where and how you're driving. the fuel will be governed at redline, thus you can't get anymore fuel then the engine was getting at redline. this is to protect the engine and the reputation of the Z. Look at the last RX7, the number of engines that were rebuilt at 60-70k are staggering. My guess is that you could safely go into redline without damaging the engine if done properly. The issue is that many people that are buying the Z have never had a sports car before and even the autos can be shifted manually so my mom if she had a Z could go into redline every day on the way to work if she wanted... That's not the best idea.

Default rx-7 quote,...

I had an RX-7 before buying a "Z" and reving was not the cause of a motor rebuild! The apex linning in the rotory is not strong enough for the twin turbos! They have to be replaced with a stronger linning! Then add the NOS for just a little increase, not much though!
