Default 350Z = Diesel Engine? And Tranny Question

I turned on my Z Christmas morning and when it started it sounded just like a diesel engine! My first thought was low oil, so I turned it off checked the oil a few times, waited, checked some more, and it was just fine. I get back in a lil later and when I try turning it on it was sounding like it was almost dead and barely wanted to turn on, but it did and I let it warm up. Turned it off and on one more time and it has been running great ever since. Should I be worried about it?

And also I have a 5AT and Ive noticed the Z has been starting to redline now when I push it every so often, wtf is up with that? It has never done this to me before.

Your transmission is slipping pretty bad.

As for the rough start: spark plugs? Could have a misfire somewhere. But I'm surprised you don't have a light on. Is your gas tank full? How old is your gas? When was the last time you started the car?

No my gas tank was not full, I was at maybe midway from 1/4 to half a tank and the gas I would say was maybe 5 or 6 days old. And the Z is a daily driver so I use it EVERY day, which is why this scared the hell outta me. & as far as my tranny goes, should I take it in to the dealer? Its still under warranty for a few thousand more miles.

And I was just as surprised as there being no light on either. I was expecting it to pop on at anytime, but nothing yet.

I'd suspect a crank or cam position sensor, maybe wet or something. No CEL along with it? Sometimes the ecu will store sensor information of a problem before tripping the CEL, have it scanned for stored codes.
