P0300 Random Cylinder misfire
I have a single turbo 04z. It is tuned with a reflash.
i checked my CEL code today and got a p0300 with is a random cylinder misfire which means i wont pass emissions.
Now my question is. Is the ECU confused and reading the misfire cuz of the turbo kit or is it really misfiring. What needs to be done in order for the light to go away permanantly. Tomorow (wednesday), i will take out the plugs and check the gaps and the overall condition of the plugs. I will also check the wires to make sure nothing is damaged to cause the misfire. But thats all i can think off. ANy ideas?

Go to Wal-mart and get a code-reader that can erase codes. I don't believe its the coil pack unless there is a specific cylinder misfire. Just something you have to live with going FI.
I tell you, I bounced off the limiter few several back and I thought the motor blew. Heart sunk and life stopped. Then I realized it was built motor time. But the it was just a scare. Maybe next time. Car still runs good.
ya i have a scan tool and i can erase it. thats what im gonna do when i go for emmissions. Do you guys think ill still fail with the code gone?
and no, i havent bounced off the rev limiter and i dont even beat on this car at all. once in a while, ill hit 5 grand but thats it.

i dont understand why it would come up if you redline it.
How will you pass the visual inspection most states conduct to check for cats and underhood mods?
When you reset OBD2 it automatically shows "not ready for test" until you have cranked, driven, and warmed up a certain number of times to catch people who modify.

ok guys. i was told about the drive cycles of the z and how it should be done right after the deletion of the check engine light in order to pass emissions. anyone know about this
i deleted my code yesterday and i have drove 40 miles with the code comeing back. is it gonna coem back or is it off for good. also will i pass emissions with the code off now.

I do get misfire maybe once a month and always on Cyl 2. I'm going to check my plugs and see if there is any problem. Also I only get misfire on COLD Start and never while I'm driving. I have ST and passed the NY State Inspection. But like Q45tech said, every system must be ready before you pass the inspection. One quick way to find out is when you turn your ignition on, what a few seconds and if you see your CEL blink then it means it hasn't finish all the test.
