Has anyone had this problem before? I already tool it back to Nissan and made them put a new one in, but its happening again.
happens to me all the time in chicago.....theres nothing wrong with the player, its actually the cd that skips because it very cold and when the cd player reads it it makes the CD warm causing a bit of condensation on the CD. i usually just let everything properly warm up. turn the heat on in the car it helps.
Stock player really does suck in our cars, mine actually started playing too fast and it sounded like chipmunks!!! im getting a doule din player now. heard its way much better.

mine is absolute ****. i HATE the stock unit.
im ordering a new unit tonight.
blose for the mother ****ing lose (worth typing it out)
Yeah, it's definitely terrible... I didn't expect my CD player to play like a portable cd player from 1995.... that and the fact that I expected Bose to have some mid-range and bass to it.. especially with a subwoofer right behind me. Apparently Bose is all about treble. I'm not a fan of cracking my windows with screetching high ends.

have the same problem with my player, and I have the bose system. Just let the car warm up for 5 minutes like you're supposed to do, then drive, it allows the car to heat up properly, and I usually dont have a problem with CD player after sitting 5 min. When I dont, I hear the skipping all the time.
LOL i just stopped by to check if anyone else has heard of this and sure enough the first post to come up. I live in LI NY and its right around christmas. I have an 03 350z and Its been in the 30's laitly and specialy at night, which is when i usually take my Life.. i mean Z out. Ive noticed for the passed month that when its cold inside my car it seems to skip like its the Bose's F$^#in job. I cant enjoy my Lil Wayne shtt at all when its skipping like a beast. I usually take the cd out and hold it under my arm until it warms up and it sometimes helps. Once the cockpit of our "spaceships" heats up Bose works beautifully. Ohh and
P.S for those of you who say your Bose system Sucks, My shtt sounds great all summer and the Woofer being behind me is loud as $%^@ so id
get yours checked out.

My z is an 03 so i didnt expect it to have any sick *** deck, but the Bose works Perfectly fine when its warm. The only reason id like a new Deck is because the original is just too plain and basic. Id like something that looks more up to date and has more options but i love the bose regardless.
Mine skips too (2003). I didn't notice when I bought the car because it was August. But now it's pretty much un-useable, and 5 minutes of having the heater on high does not fix it. More like 25 minutes before it settles down.
I think that a big contributor to the Bose system sounding like **** is that the interior of the car is all plastic except for the seats and carpet... plus it has that huge back glass window. I also had an E46 M3, which has most of the trim covered in a felt-like material, and it sounded much better just because it damps out reflections of the treble. I was thinking of getting the headliner in the Z covered in some sort of fabric to quiet things down and make it sound a bit better.
I don't find the interior road noise too loud at all, but I think the sound system just reflects off of all of that plastic/glass and sounds like crap. It's bad enough that most days, I'd rather just listen to the road noise. ...or is that just because music sucks so bad these days?

Every morning after I get off work around 6-7am, it's about 25-30*F, so the CD player does skip every so often, at first I thought it was the bumps and the dust inside the player itself, but it's not. After a while everything warms up and is working fine. Doesn't bother me a bit. Oh and I'm happy with my Bose, never bought this car for the interior quality nor sound quality in the first place, so don't really care. Plus, on all the CDs i burn with iTunes, I usually set the EQs to bass booster on each track, so it downs some of the treble and does make that bass bump a little more, like I said, don't really care for audio, I'm not a fan of bass thumping to the point my ears will blow like everyone else in SoCal.
