Hello guys,

Well my question is my Speedometer was all messed up, when i bought my used 350z so i decided to buy a new one on the web it arrive but i have a question do i have to take my car to the dealer to get my old milage back or is it store on the computer.....? thanxxx guys!!

 

The speedometer has to be calibrated with the mileage when it is built. It will show whatever mileage was on the vehicle it came from.

 

Just install it and get 0 mile car.

 

Does the comp have that info stored though ?

 

hahhahah well i dont want to get in trouble with the DMV they have my latest milage.......... so I was planning to change the speedometer my self but i guess now i have to take it to the dealer!!!

Well i read that the computer does not stored the milage on some cars but it does the hours the motor has been running......... I wander if this is true about 350z's also???

 

the computer does not store any mileage data,,however..remember that nissan keeps track of your warranty repair mileage in service comm.just a heads up if you take the car to the dealer for repairs.it could get flagged TMU
(true mileage unknown)and causes all kinds of problems when you go to sell it or have any other warranty done..(even recalls)
