Ok, so I am not a big idiot and I probably already know the answer to this...but thought it might be a problem with other people and thought I would ask.

I bought my 03 base model two weeks ago from a private seller. EVERYTHING worked ok when I picked up, I made sure to test everything. Now, I found out that my power lock isn't working on the driver side. But it will lock with the key. When i press the button to lock, the passenger side works and the horns beeps to indicate everything is locked, but the driver side doesn't.

I called the guy I bought it from and he said he never had a problem with it, and since I can't keep it in a garage that it might be frozen?

Can the lock motor thing freeze on only one side of the car? and it isn't hard to lock with the key....so i didn't think it was frozen?? I know that the car is 5 years old and it just probably broke (unfortunate in the first 2 weeks of ownership) but I thought I would ask to see if any one knew anything?

 

Replace the Battery for laughs ----But lock motors DO fail

Also listen to the door ---Is there any noise ???? Sometimes linkages come off

 

yes when i press the lock, you can hear that something is moving in there, and it just isn't locking.

is there a way to fix the linkages?

 

Yes ---you take off your door panel and check it out---If you do that, you can see what is or isnt happening
