Default Engine Shuts Off While Driving

So i just put on a k&N cold air intake on my 03' Z. Everything done 100% correctly and everything tight. But since i installed it , when i have it in neutral while down shifting for the stop, my engine will shut off. I had the nissan dealership check for stored codes, but this has happened 3 times in the past week. Im going to reset my ECU, and clean the MAS and see if this helps?

any other suggestions?

Patient: My arm hurts when I go like this.

Doctor: Then don't do that.

I've read somewhere that some people w/ JWT Popchargers had the same issue. I'll try to look for that thread.

and how long does it take for a ECU to reset once the negative terminal is disconnected?

Obviously the K&N intake is the cause of the problem as your problem started immediately after installing it. So start by cleaning your MAF, the filter was probably over oiled. After that double check your work to make sure everything is tight and there are no leaks. To reset the ECU leave the neg terminal disconnected for a couple of hours and come back, it should have reset by then.

Apologize for my poor attempt at humor. Unless you are shifting, the car should be in gear.
