Blind Spot
hey i was wondering if any of u guys have a prob with the left side rear mirriors. im short 5' 2"and it is a blind spot for me. i almost got into 3-4 accident cuz of that. the left side mirror just blocks my entire view on the side and many times i cant see the cars on my left coming in. do any of u guys have this probblem? is there anyway i can raise my seats.
I think you guys are missing the point. I think the problem is that sifuk is having is not being able to see things in front, not behind because the mirror is blocking the view towards the front left.

Respectfully folks, the only thing your mirrors show you is what's "behind" you, and then it's on a very narrow line of sight. You "can not" rely on the mirrors to always show you what's beside you. You have to "turn your heads and LOOK!" Even if you buy the little accessory convex mirrors, don't rely on the mirrors exclusively. I can't tell you the number of times I've been beside someone and noticed them glancing at their side mirror, only to have them heading right into my lane a few seconds later. I lay on the horn, they jump back into the lane they came from and then (most of the time, fortunately) are waving "I'm sorry" through the window. If they had simply looked over their shoulder, just a little, they would have seen me.
You'd be "amazed" at what your mirrors DO NOT let you see!!!

Having said the above, I reread what SteveZzz said which made me reread sifuk's initial post. I think he is having trouble seeing cars coming up on the left side if I understand him correctly.
Sifuk,
You asked about raising the seats. The only 350Z I've got experience with is a touring model and it has power adjustable seats which means you've got a height adjustment. The other models, according to Nissan's web site, have a 6 way manual adjustment drivers seat. I'd interpret that as having a height adjustment too, even if it's a manual one. Am I wrong on that or do you already have your seat up as high as it will go? If you do, I see no reason why you couldn't unbolt the seat, fabricate some sort of spacers to lift it up and then reinstall the seat. The only real problem I think you should be careful on is ensuring that the bolts are still long enough to adaquately secure the seat to the floor. You obviously don't want only two or three threads holding the seat down. If you do need to replace the mounting bolts with longer ones, be absolutely sure that the replacements are of equal strength to the originals. Hardware, like bolts and stuff, come in different strength or hardness ratings and it's important that the mounting bolts for the seats are up to the task. Having your seat pop loose in an accident would seriously screw up your day!
Hope this helps!
