Marvel Mystery Oil?
My dad came over the other day and gave me a bottle of this stuff. Marvel Mystery Oil. I always looked at this product as a gimic, and i'm still leery about it. I dont see how this can possibly work or be beneficial to the engine or fuel. Yet my dad swears by it.
As of now I refuse to use it. Anyone know if this stuff actually works and if its worth it?

Look at the MSDS and you'll see that it's not much of a "mystery":

Basically it's benzene, mineral spirits and naptha. All common solvents. If you took your engine apart and needed to clean sludge or other deposits, you certainly could use MMO to clean it.

My dad refers this to people who have minor transmission problems. It seems to help if a car has minor slippage. (Automatics) There are tons of products that will work to get you by but if you have a problem with your car, the only sure fix is to get it fixed. There isn't a liquid bandage for cars.
