Default a bit problem with...

today just got my "kilo"age to 2000km so ~~
was on a freeway ~~ trying to see how Z can do ~~
well ~~ i have the auto ~~ and i was using steptroic ~~
i started with first gear...and than pushed to red line ~~ when it goes into 7k rpm ~ the engline just seems to be rattling and ready to explode anytime...car was unstable and feels like jumping back and forth.... is it problems with my timing?
does it auto **** to 2nd gear if i keep doing that?
and is it okay if i **** at redlien ? or does it hurts the engine ~?

any suggestions plz~?
i know autos shouldn't trying to be manuals...
but i couldn't resist ~

also ~ when should i do the oil change?
right after break-in ~? or as dealer said 6k km ~?~?

First, redline is 6600, not 7000, keep it up and you will blow your engine and, no, it will not shift by itself in manual mode. Second. read your owner's manual, troll. This thread is bogus, Moderators, kick this troll out of the site.

You're right, I don't own this world. OK, let me recap, you just passed breakin at 2000 kilometers and redlined your new Z and continued past redline to 7000rpm. The car stated shaking when you ran into the rev limiter. No, it won't shift by itself into 2nd in manual mode, you will keep banging into the rev limiter. Redliing it at 6600rpm shouldn't hurt anything, going past 7000rpm is not a good idea. Never use the rev limiter as your shift point.

Change the oil and filter anytime at or before 7500 miles, Nissan's recomendations. I would change the oil and filter at 3000-3750 miles at least. I changed mine at 2700 miles and again at 4900 , because I changed over to Mobile 1. I don't commute anymore, so I plan to change oil and filter every 5000 miles or 6 months, whichever comes first. I have 2 cars and will put only 6-7000 miles on both per year.

If you use the car as a daily driver and put on 12-15000 miles a year or more on it, I would change the oil and filter every 35 -3750 miles at least. Some fanatics changed their oil and filter at 1000 or less, then again at breakin and again at 2 and 3000 miles. I think its overkill, but its their business, not mine.

A good rule is, change it according to how you drive. The harder you drive, the more often I would change it. A lot of racers change oil and filter after each race, I would too. Daily driving and taking it to the redline occasionly, I would stick to the 35-3750 mile change interval. The point is, NEVER change it less than the factory recommends except under unusual circumstances, then go immediately back to your usual routine and always replace the filter too, it cheap. Hope this helps, Sorry about the troll remark, I am grouchy in the morning and I didn't feel your post was sincere. Drop the shorthand language in your posts and mo people will take you seriously.

Boomer--my advice, use it or lose it, I don't care.

What TSB? There is a paragraph in the Owner's Manual referencing the approved oil to be used, it is only after that section when Nissan says they recommend mineral oil, it is NOT a requirement or designated oil. Read it very carefully and remember, synthetic oil has better flow characteristics at low temperatures. I would still keep your change intervals consistently. Don't use syn oil if you think it is wasteful at those change intervals.

Ah, yes. Nissan has special fluid you have to use or your AT won't work properly.
