Default cars is sluggish when starting

this is def a newb question/comment. But I have noticed in the last week my car is sluggish when I crank it up. My first thought is the battery(since it is 5 years old), so I just bouht one from auto zone and was reay to install it, but it started to rain. So once the rain stops Im going to replace the battery and hope that solves the sluggishnes. If not then I think be alternater or I need to replace the spark plugs. I'll let you guys know the outcome after the battery is replaced.

It seems changing out the battery did the trick, but I also had to replace the negative terminal. It was still a little sluggish when I cranked it up the first time, but then I turned it off and left it for a few minutes and then it started right up. I guess tomarrow morning will be the real test when I crank it up to go to work.
