Default Climate Control Switch does not turn off Climate control

i got my 03 touring about a year ago and recently it has been acting funny with the climate control.

When i turn the climate control to off position, it still pushes air through the system if its in the auto position.

Anyone experience this and what would you think i should do?

make sure its not on circulating..if it isnt hit the side of the dash where the controls are and if it turns off..then theres something wrong behind the dash. Theres a white box that houses the electronics for it and the connected might be loose.

you are not being very clear... if your climate control system is on auto, than it will maintain the temperature you have set on the thermostat... but your saying what is in the off position?

yah, he means that.

If you have climate control to OFF, and if your exterior switch (non-circulating air) is set then you WILL feel air coming when your car is in motion. Its normal. Even my DD is like that.

snyper z told you what you should check i would go with that. all you have to do is grab your shift boot if you have a manual and pull up a little and you should detach it from the body. there is a little white box that connects to your climate control and if the attached wiring is disconnected your climate control will stay on.

its pretty easy.......if that isn't the problem you have a short somewhere and i would take it in to get it troubleshot.

hope that helps

I'm going to check this out, I just had this problem today. I hope I don't need to bring it to the delaership. Is there a way of finding the short in the wiring myself?
