Default Is this BS?

I went to Tireworks to see if I can get my rotors resurfaced. What they told me was since the Z is a sports car, they wont be able to resurface my rotors. They said that the rotors I've got (OEM) cant be resurfaced.By the way my car doesnt even have brembo. Is this true or they are just trying to rip me off?

its possible it has nothing to do with it being a sports car it has everything to do with the type of pads and how thin the rotors are from the factory. BMW and MB are pretty much the same way.

It's apparently pretty common:

Why wouldn't you just buy new rotors?? R1 rotors are pretty decent for the price.

No you can resurface the rotors as long as your rotors are not below min specs which is printed on the rotor. The reason they told you is that they measured the rotors(doubt it) . Now it is true with the z being a sports car it is not recommened to resurface rotors due to performance loss.

It's not just minimum thickness that has to be considered. Rotors can be warped (too much runout) beyond specs rendering them useless.

I have the same rotors for over 20 months, 4 track days using Hawk pads no problems or warping here.
