Default Headlight Problem. Please Help!

Okay so I have searched and searched but could not find an answer to my exact problem. Here goes. I followed the DIY write up on painting 06+ headlights and they look great. However when I put everything back together and fired the lights up they were way out of adjustment. So I searched the board and found an adjustment write up. After several nights of frustration I still cannot get the lights adjusted to the way they were before the painting. They shoot off to the sides more than straight ahead. I have found two forms of adjustment *****. One that was covered by a black metal cap and the other is the one that seems to adjust the vertical movement. No matter how much adjustment I do they still seem to point off to the sides. Any info would be great as I am really thinking that I may have screwed up my lights some how. Thanks.

I had the same problem the first time i did my headlights. I found that The HID bulbs )and ignitors all atatched) Were not properlly fastend in with the clip, This had happened to both becuase I thought i did it right the first time so i did the same thing to the second headlight. I would suggest that you pull the headlights out and make sure that the bulbs are sitting flush and snuggly in the hole and then clamp it down. Another suggestion might be that you are adjusting it in the wrong direction. I.e. if you are turning it the wrong direction it will not go anywhere. try turning the adjustments the other way! (I also did this lol)

Thanks willowns, I still have the bumper off so it will be easy to pull the lights. That may be my problem as it felt like it was sitting right but maybe not. Thanks for your help and I will let you know if it works.

Willowns you were spot on. Both bulbs were in but slightly resting above the tab and not fully flush. Thanks again.
