When I am at a red light and when it turns green I Accelerate but the only problem is honda accords and 4 cylinders and just about any other car kills me on normal acceleration on a green light (not racing). My engine stains really bad at 4000 rpm (I have a manual transmission) like it needs to shift to the next gear. Whats wrong? Is the the clutch? The dealer told me I need a new clutch but they told me that three months after I bought the car certified pre owned. ( I think they are just trying to get over on me). Whats wrong with my car? Still under warranty but dealer quote me $2000 for a new clutch which I will not pay. What should I do? 2004 Nissan 350z.

When you say horrible acceleration.....does it seem the engine is revving but you aren't accelerating? Does the engine seem to rev right after shifting gears? When you floor it.....do the revs go up really fast and the car not accelerating? If so, I suspect you need a new clutch. Clutches are wear items and are not usually covered under warranties.

get an aftermarket clutch anf flywheel for like 800 and put it in, u get to solve the problem and get an upgrade
