front bumper damage
Was driving on the interstate and a piece of debris flew up and hit my bumper. It didn't actually crack it so I just wanted to post some pics and see what you guys think. I was thinking that they can sand it and then re-paint it? check it out...
It doesn't look cracked.
They'll be able to sand it down and repaint it, sure.
Is insurance covering it?
It's possible that it will be more expensive to sand down and repaint a stock bumper already painted than it is to buy a new oem bumper and get that painted.

scmtkings- the bumper is silverstone, just looks weird in those pics. The bumper is not cracked through anywhere.
Kirk Lazarus - I am checking on my deductible but more than likely I will just be payin out of pocket. I was hoping that they could just paint the parts they needed and not the whole thing. I am going to check the classifieds for an oem painted bumper.

Yea I will for now. I got a nismo v2 as well but its pretty f'd up from when I tried to ship it. I am going to get estimates on both of them.
ADMAN-how much do you want shipped? My Z is silverstone though...

Whatever route you go you might want to go with a 3M clear bra after the paint is done. Good luck
It will cost less to repaint your bumper and you will get a better job. The bumper will be sanded down to dull the clear coat and the damaged areas will be repaired. Then the damaged areas will be spotted in, blending the painted area with the rest of the bumper. Finally, the entire bumper will be clearcoated. If you buy another bumper it probably will not match unless the shop blends a small amount of the hood and fenders. If you tell your insurance agent you hit a bird or small animal it will be covered under comp instead of collision. This would possibly have a lower deductible. ($100 vs. $500 in my case)
